'The Walking Dead' Has Officially Wrapped Filming

When The Walking Dead first premiered in 2010, it became popular very quickly.

It seems that there were many zombie movies, but no TV shows. TWD made history by racking up record-breaking viewers and even won 2 Primetime Emmy Awards.

After a major character death in its seventh season, many fans fell off of the show and wrote it off as 'boring'. TWD has always been known for its "slow burn" approach, which can go either way for most viewers. They are either highly into it--or not.

Regardless, the hit series continued on, introducing new characters, storylines and much more. Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon) posted on Instagram about the last day of filming: "That's a wrap," he wrote. "11 seasons 12 years. Never been so beat up and it was an absolute blast. Thank you to all of you that took this ride with us and what a ride it was ❤️"

The Walking Dead currently has several spin-offs out and in the works, with the first post-finale series coming out in 2023.
