Minnesota Expands Marijuana Laws

Minnesotans who are prescribed medical marijuana will now have a more affordable option.

As the 2021 legislation comes to a close, the state government has passed a bill through the Senate and the House to allow smokable marijuana in Minnesota. This is a major change from the original law signed back in 2014 which allowed medical usage in the form of liquid, oil, or pills.

The expanded medical cannabis law is expected to go into effect by March 1, 2022, or once a system is in place to produce the dried flower in existing facilities.
