Cleveland Announces Multimillion-Dollar Lakefront Project

Jimmy and Dee Haslam, owners of the Cleveland Browns, have been partnering with the city of Cleveland on a proposal to improve the neighborhood surrounding FirstEnergy Stadium for over two years. The Haslams said to FOX 8 "there is a long road ahead for a project of this magnitude.  Still, it must start with a vision which will be studied, vetted, and modified,” the statement reads."

A land bridge that will extend from the top of the Huntington Convention Center all the way to Lake Erie is one of the most ambitious proposals in this initiative.

Kerry McCormack, who serves Ward 3 in Cleveland, where the proposal is being planned, believes it is a significant move forward for the city's future. Currently, the estimated net cost of this new project is about $200 million. Residents in Cleveland who saw the renderings believe that it would be a huge benefit to the area.
