St. Louis Arsonist Arrested After Throwing Molotov Cocktails

Over the weekend, a man and a teenage girl were put into custody for allegedly launching multiple Molotov cocktails at a St. Charles residence and business. Authorities said that these incidents occurred Friday evening.

According to a local news outlet, 23-year-old, Rashaad Cotton, threw multiple firebombs in the area. The first one was thrown at a home near Greiner Drive and Cole Boulevard that landed in someone's yard. Afterward, he got in a silver Hyundai Elantra with the 16-year-old and another woman and drove off to the next crime scene.

The suspect then threw another one at Sauce on the Side on Beale Street. This act caused the injury of a 29-year-old who was sitting on the patio and suffered minor burns to the thigh.

Police were able to apprehend Cotton when they got a report that a vehicle matching the description of the previous crime had crashed into a Bass Pro Shop.

Cotton was charged with one count of arson, first and third-degree assault, armed criminal action, and resisting arrest with bail set at $25,000 cash-only. The teenage girl who was with him at the St. Louis County family court detention facility.
